Caring for Our Huskies
At Aurora Husky, the well-being of our dogs is just as important as the guest experience. Our huskies are not only working animals – they are beloved companions, teammates, and the heart of everything we do.
They Love to Run
Our huskies are born to run. Pulling a sled through snow-covered landscapes is not just work – it’s what they love most. You’ll see their excitement as they line up for a tour, tails wagging and eyes bright with anticipation.
Balanced Work and Rest
We carefully rotate our dogs to ensure each one gets enough rest between sledding tours.- Every dog gets dedicated downtime during the day to recover and relax.
- Each husky has at least two full days off per week, to recharge both physically and mentally.
- Outside the winter season, they enjoy a varied routine of hikes, light training, play, and rest.
Nutrition and Health
Our dogs are fed a balanced, high-quality diet tailored to their needs as active Arctic athletes.- Meals are adjusted seasonally and in consultation with professionals.
- We work closely with veterinarians to ensure each dog receives regular health checks, vaccinations, and any necessary treatment.
Space and Shelter
All our dogs live in safe, spacious kennels built to meet or exceed Norwegian animal welfare regulations.
- They have room to move, rest, and interact with each other throughout the day.
- Enrichment, attention, and socialization are part of their daily care.
Year-Round Care and Variation
Husky care doesn’t stop when the snow melts.- In spring, summer, and autumn, our dogs stay active through varied training routines, short tours, playtime, and rest.
- This keeps them fit, mentally stimulated, and happy year-round.
Our huskies are the heart of our business – and we treat them with the love, respect, and care they deserve. When you visit us, you’ll see just how much they love what they do – and how well they are cared for in return.
